Lara Colturi -Alpine skier- The Mountain Studio

Lara Colturi

“Skiing is quite an important thing in my family”

Lara Colturi is the daughter of the Italian Super G Olympic gold medalist (2002) Daniela Ceccarelli. Daniela is Lara’s coach, and her father; Alessandro, is a ski instructor. This season Lara made her debut on the World Cup circuit only 15 years old, one of the youngest participant in almost 50 years.

Her early World Cup debut was not the only talking point about Colturi. Being born in Italy she raised some eyebrows there when she decided to switch to Albanian nationality and represent the Albanian ski federation. The Italian federation wanted her to wait, but she and her family felt the time was ripe, and with this arrangement her mother could also continue to be her coach. As she now after a few months already has a couple of top 20 finishes in the World Cup - which is quite a feat for any WC debutant regardless of age – it looks like it was the right decision to start competing on the highest level this season.

Just recently she also entered the Junior World Championships in St. Anton and claimed the Gold Medal in Super G. Being what they call a “Speed Girl” she also claimed a Bronze Medal in Giant Slalom and a 4th place in Downhill.

As a person Lara is a radiant and happy person, who also can switch over and be an intensely focused and determined competitor when it is race time. As her mom is her coach, they spend a lot of time training and traveling together. Lara’s idols are of course Mikaela Shiffrin, but also our co-founder Marcel Hirscher.

The Mountain Studio Team is proud to welcome Lara as an ambassador of the brand, and we are looking forward to following her in the future…
